Welcome to the 4 year old Squirrel Class! This year we will have so much fun and we will explore learning using the Reggio Emilia Approach. The heart of Reggio learning embraces the idea of allowing students to use symbolic language through various mediums like painting, interactive play and experiential learning to express themselves. The environment in the classroom in self-directed but  within the boundaries of a pre-determined curriculum. In Bonjour sicken we will discover the wondrous working of the heart, brain, skeletal system and in May we will actually perform brain surgery. Four year old make excellent brain surgeons and typically cost about 87% less than board certified physicians.

Happy New Year! This month is winter fun!We will explore two authors this month, Mo Williems and Jan Brett. We will discuss the difference between an author and an illustrator. We will compare books from each author and discuss how they are alike and how they differ.

Bonjour Science:

This month we will explore the human brain, lungs and how they work. We will learn all of this in French and then we will write a book about the human brain in French with the hopes that we can get it published in a medical journal. We are looking for parent volunteers for the upcoming brain surgery that we will perform. It will only hurt a little.
